  Did I overreact?

  so i've been seeing a man, and he has been staying at my house the past few days.

  last night he said he needed to go and quote on drywall in a town outside of the city (he's a contracter).

  he left at 7pm and said he'd be a little while.

  i feel the language, doctrines, translation, etc..etc... all of it must be known as well as the bible.

  actually no: one Son in one person, just several offices, some heavenly, some earthy. Just like Mr. Ratzinger became Cardinal Ratzinger and then Pope Benedict XVI, so Michael became Jesus and then Jesus Christ.

  Anyone heard of Watchtower policy change concerning pedophiles

  i'm passing this along from someone else on another discussion board.

  the claim of any substantive change in the policy on pedophiles is news to me.

  can anybody verify or falsify this claim?.

  a few semi-ransom thoughts, or personal musings (all at least indirectly connected) …

  Considering that Satan's governments and their justice systems will soon be replaced (as per Daniel 2:44), I see no problem with handling matters Jehovah's way, via spirit and truth. The buy-outs and bribes (etc.) with lawyers and police can result in far worse "justice" than practicing love as Jesus taught. On the other hand, I do feel that maintaining a photo ID register would minimise JWs changing their appearance radically, etc.

  By the way, if there really is true love for Jehovah, neighbour, and oneself, each congregation would be a discerning, tight-knit group. Abusers can't stand up under the proper interchange of encouragement, and shepherding in line with Ephesians 4, Hebrews 4:13, and 2 Timothy 4. If the children in the congregation are all freely commenting in their own words, that should indicate that all is well on the home-front.

  I think that anyone who wants to become a Pioneer (whether Auxiliary or Regular) should need to take a special course to qualify. The same should apply to those getting married, and to those being considered for publisher (whether unbaptised or baptised), MS, elder, (etc.) just as with becoming a Gilead missionary.

  And, just as with a state driver's licence, there should be a mandatory renewal every few years, and a photo ID issued for any authorised in any JW capacity worn on a necklace just as an door-to-door salesman.

  It does to me. It requires spiritual discernment, in my honest opinion. Which is why the Bible alone is NOT enough to reach a true Jw.

  DD, I understand that "feeding on Jesus' flesh and drinking his blood" (John 6:54) is talking about living as Christ taught us to live and accepting his ransom sacrifice on our behalf. It fits with John 17:3.

  1tim 2:14-15 adam was not deceived, but the woman was thoroughly deceived and came to be in transgression.

  15however, she will be kept safe through childbearing, provided they continue in faith and love and sanctification along with soundness of mind.. so how do yall interpretate this scripture?.

  is it saying that it was eve's fault, that adam was not deceived.

  If I remember YOUR context, DD, it would be Jesus. I just forget which scripture that was. In general, though, Jehovah has come down physically several times (such as to Adam, Eve, and the Serpent in the garden of Eden; and again in the company of 2 angels, with Abraham), but by the time of Moses, only His "glory" could be seen, perhaps because mankind was too "imperfect" by then. Various angels have also come down, if the record is to be complete regarding the "who" that came down. It would appear, at least to ones like me (from Revelation 21), that Jehovah, Jesus Christ, and the 144,000 may also come down. It just depends whether it turns out to be literal or just figurative.

  to jookbeard:— MY "loving brethren" are always respect, never snide or looking-down-the nose. I have no need to QUESTION "lies" or "filth". I simply STATE "truth" in contrast to the "lies"; and "get out my scrub-brush, soap, and water" and APPLY ELBOW-GREASE when I see "filth" that needs to be cleaned up. I don't wait for permission. The air clears of the stinky odour faster that way.
